ENDFORCE Releases New Version of its Network Access Control Software for Enterprises Seeking Protection from Non-Compliant Endpoints

ENDFORCE Enterprise is the Only Viable LAN-Enforcement Product Available Today to Enforce Network Access, Leverage Existing DHCP Infrastructure

DUBLIN, Ohio (July 27, 2005) - ENDFORCE, a leading provider of vendor-neutral network access control software, today announced the release of ENDFORCE Enterprise™ 2.2, a centralized, comprehensive enforcement solution to manage remote, LAN or rogue endpoints. With Enterprise 2.2, organizations now have complete protection from non-compliant and unmanaged endpoints through expanded DHCP enforcement capabilities that leverage existing DHCP infrastructures.

"Enterprises require a solution that enables them to quickly identify and quarantine rogue endpoints that fail to comply with corporate security policies before they are granted network access, without having to upgrade or redesign their network infrastructure," said Greg Moore, ENDFORCE chief executive officer. "ENDFORCE Enterprise is the only viable network access control solution currently available that provides organizations with a proactive, yet comprehensive, network defense mechanism to quarantine, isolate, and protect valuable network resources from non-compliant, high-risk endpoints."

ENDFORCE Enterprise is built on a standards-based framework that enables enterprises to centrally manage security policy enforcement and assess compliance of managed corporate endpoints and unmanaged endpoints used by consultants, partners, visitors, and customers prior to giving them network access. ENDFORCE Enterprise uses Context Aware Authorization (CONTEXT™) technology, which combines powerful assessment and reporting tools with comprehensive enforcement capabilities. CONTEXT technology authorizes user access to resources based on organizational role, network access method, endpoint status and known responses to security vulnerabilities.

The expanded DHCP capabilities of ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.2 allow organizations to immediately enforce network access policies while leveraging existing infrastructures and providing tight integration with servers running Lucent VitalQIP DNS/DHCP IP Management Software and Microsoft DHCP software.

The new DHCP features in ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.2 include:

  • Support for DHCP Quarantine Settings: DHCP enforcement is policy-based, allowing the quarantine behaviors to be defined for specific user groups. DHCP policy settings identify user classes that extend to those configured on DHCP servers.
  • Robust DHCP Enforcement Action Report: This detailed report provides information on endpoints that were permitted or denied access using the DHCP enforcement capabilities of ENDFORCE Enterprise. The report enables administrators to identify why access was granted or denied and view related ENDFORCE Agent session records or associated compliance assessment details.

In addition to extensive DHCP LAN-enforcement capabilities, ENDFORCE has enhanced the user authentication options available in Enterprise 2.2 by adding support for LDAP. This feature enables users to integrate their LDAP directories with ENDFORCE Enterprise using minimal integration or setup.

With these additional improvements, ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.2 provides:

  • Comprehensive enforcement coverage including enhanced DHCP, 802.1x, SSL VPN, IPsec VPN and agent enforcement capabilities
  • Broad compatibility with over 400 security applications and all major network equipment vendors
  • No requirement for expensive network equipment upgrades or time consuming network redesigns

"Our customers are searching for a solid network access solution that works today," said Lee Rudd, vice president of operations for Vigilar, Inc., an information security consulting firm and a reseller of ENDFORCE technology. "ENDFORCE Enterprise's comprehensive features and enhanced DHCP and LDAP support make it a viable solution for comprehensive endpoint security enforcement for our clients."

ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.2 will be available for general release in August. Contact ENDFORCE at 866 777 2537 or
