ENDFORCE Extends Lead in Complete Enterprise Network Access Control with Launch of Enterprise 2.5

ENDFORCE Enterprise's New Clientless Web Agent, Real-Time Alerting Capabilities Empower Enterprises to Protect Valuable Network Resources

Information Security Decisions — New York (October 19, 2005) — ENDFORCE, a leading provider of vendor-neutral network access control software, today announced the release of version 2.5 of ENDFORCE Enterprise, its endpoint security policy enforcement offering. ENDFORCE Enterprise now includes real-time alerting capabilities and a clientless Web Agent to proactively assess unmanaged endpoints.

"Organizations need a centralized endpoint security policy solution that enables them to enforce compliance of both managed and unmanaged endpoints," said Scott Crawford, senior analyst for Enterprise Management Associates. "ENDFORCE's strong client-based and clientless enforcement capabilities give enterprises a single solution to manage access control across their entire network."

The new clientless Web Agent feature in ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.5 allows organizations to quickly and easily control network access of unmanaged endpoints or seamlessly mix client and clientless assessments of managed endpoints. The Web Agent provides a zero-touch endpoint deployment that does not require distribution of an installation package. Instead, unmanaged endpoint users can be directed to a Web site where a lightweight ActiveX control is downloaded and a comprehensive one-time assessment is performed to ensure the endpoint is compliant with security policy before it gains network access.

ENDFORCE has added robust alerting capabilities to Enterprise 2.5, enabling organizations to quickly react to compliance issues as they occur. The alerting features, which complement Enterprise's extensive reporting capabilities, give administrators and managers the ability to send real-time alerts to individuals or third-party monitoring systems based on compliance state changes and enforcement actions. The alert thresholds are established by administrators, enabling them to flexibly establish frequency and alert actions within the ENDFORCE Enterprise Web interface. ENDFORCE has also enhanced the availability of reporting data in Enterprise 2.5 by providing an easy interface to extract and view the data in third-party analysis tools, such as Crystal reports.

"Today's corporate environment requires enterprises to exchange and share information with partners, vendors and consultants, as well as temporary and remote workers," said Greg Moore, chief executive officer of ENDFORCE. "This poses a difficult challenge for companies because they must also protect valuable corporate resources and information. ENDFORCE Enterprise allows organizations to safely share information by using one solution to identify and quarantine potential threats before they compromise network resources."

ENDFORCE Enterprise 2.5 now supports endpoint assessment and network access control for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista. Enterprise 2.5 is the first endpoint security policy compliance solution to support the Vista platform, providing enterprises with the ability to participate in Microsoft beta programs without exposing their organizations to security risks.
