ENDFORCE Launches quickSCAN to Help Enterprises Rapidly Assess Endpoint Compliance

Free, Web-based Assessment Tool First Step in Deploying NAC in 90 Days

DUBLIN, Ohio (July 18, 2006) ― ENDFORCE, a leading independent provider of network access control software, announced today that it has released quickSCAN(SM), an assessment tool designed to help enterprise customers quickly determine a baseline compliance level of their endpoint security policy.

"In our work with large enterprises, we are finding that many of them do not have a solid understanding of their current security policy compliance level, and they are typically very surprised by the level of non-compliance," said Greg Moore, ENDFORCE chief executive officer. An easy-to-use Web-based assessment tool, quickSCAN provides information about the status and compliance of endpoint security applications and OS patches. It uses an ENDFORCE Web portal and clientless Web Agent to generate a detailed report that provides quantitative information about an organization's state of security. Information gathered in the report is sent to a confidential, secure server.

The quickSCAN assessment provides the number of secure and non-secure users by OS patches, current OS service packs, personal firewalls, anti-spyware applications, anti-virus applications and the presence of file sharing applications. The report also indicates whether required applications are both installed and running.

quickSCAN is the first step in ENDFORCE's NAC in 90 Days(SM)strategy, a three-phase approach designed to help large enterprises quickly deploy a NAC solution at a fraction of the cost of the appliance or network infrastructure alternatives.
